We strive to impact, educate and support our communities of teen moms by hosting workshops that create hope, promotes prevention and events that provide support.
Our vision is to support young mothers with completing high school, assisting with career driven leads, providing them with resources to help them support their families, and to create opportunities that will help them sustain their means to push through poverty and become the best version of themselves.
We provide a range of resources and tools to young mothers, including educational material through our workshops, job leads, internships, and free baby essentials through our program.
We believe that access to these resources is essential to help young families build a strong foundation for their future success.
Our founder Brittany Daniels shares a personal soft spot to young mothers as she was once a young mother herself having her first son at just fourteen years old. Life for Brittany had not been easy nor perfect prior to being a teen mom and shortly after became one of the hardest challenges she would face.
Raising a child at any age can be difficult and having to do so at just 14 years old was extremely overwhelming but despite the difficulties of being a young mom, her aspirations for herself never died. While fighting through financial hardship, lack of support and depression she continued to be brave with her child on her hip.
Facing these life challenges and her desire to make an impact while sharing her story with other young mothers, she decided to create her own space to be a role model of hope in her community.
In April of 2019, Brittany established TheRareOproject a nonprofit organization who has a mission to empower young mothers in Los Angeles to remain encouraged through obstacles they are faced with as a new mom and we are here to support them through the process. We strive to impact, educate and support our community of teen moms by hosting workshops that create hope, promote prevention and events that provide support
Today, Brittany continues to be the light in her community. Striving to impact and encourage young mothers while being a devoted wife and mother of four. Currently residing in Los Angeles, a LA native born and raised it brings her much joy and feeling of purpose to be a leader of love and light in her community.
The future for TheRareOproject is bright and filled with love. Our hopes with the help of our supporters, is to expand and continue our efforts supporting young mothers in our community by providing resources to help ease the financial pressure, encouragement that keeps them motivated and workshops that support their personal and professional goals.
WE ARE ALWAYS BETTER TOGETHER!!!
The Rare O Project is a beautiful tribute to Brittany’s most cherished relationship with her late Godmother, a woman whose heart overflowed with love, warmth, and light. The essence of this remarkable woman is captured in our name, a testament to her unwavering passion for nurturing her family with love, guidance, and light.
Though Brittany faced feelings of exclusion and self-doubt in her youth, her Godmother's unwavering belief in her inner and outer beauty inspired her to persevere. Fondly referred to as her "little black orchid," Brittany was reminded that, like orchids, she was rare, powerful, and filled with purpose.
Although her godmother has transitioned and never had the opportunity to watch Brittany create a movement in her community on her own, driven by purpose, love, and light, Brittany knows her Godmother is smiling down from heaven proud of the woman and mom she has become and continues to strive to be.
With heartfelt gratitude and love for the time we were blessed to share, In loving memory of Ms. Bobetta Blueford
