Impacting Young Moms
Meet Lilian
She is one of our teen moms a part of our Hope program since September 2020. Since becoming a participant in our program straight out of McAlister High School graduating in 2020 during the pandemic. Lilian has been able to continue her educational goals online and recently passed her CNA course in February 2021 while juggling being a new mom, participating in our workshops and volunteering at our events.
Lilian displays such a drive to make a way for her family. She is currently attending an internship through USC preparing to get out into the work field and we are proud to be a part of her journey and witness her growth. #HERstory #TeenMomwithGoals
Meet Nubia
She is one of our moms apart of our Hope program since November 2020. We had the pleasure of meeting Nubia at one of our community giveaway events. She recently relocated here from another state and needed help with baby essentials and a support group that could help support her through her new transition in a new state.
Nubia has overcome obstacles, first finding herself homeless, living in a shelter with her young son but after a few months of determination and resources, she has been placed with housing, she has enrolled back into high school to get her diploma (recently graduating may 2021) and is now looking into finding what career path meets her desires.
Nubia displays such resilience to continue pushing through all the obstacles set to discourage her . We commend her for her sacrifices she has made to better her life for herself and her baby boy and we are proud to be apart of her journey and witness her growth. #HERstory #TeenMomwithGoals.
Braveheart Mommy Internship Program
Intern : Lilian Flores
Our three month internship program in partnership with "Dr Paul Memorial Medical Center" will provide our mentees apart of our mentorship program a chance to develop knowledge and skills in the medical field profession as an office assistant. Our goal will be to equip them with personal and professional development, intentional learning, communication skills, confidence, and a chance to start their financial journey by being paid for their hard work.
